Projects in Ivory Coast
Ivory Coast, Marcelinkro village: Fourth water project with Caboz Action
November 2022
Only about half of the population in rural Côte d'Ivoire has access to clean drinking water.
At the request of the inhabitants of Marcelinkro, the organization CABOZ Action installed two 6000-liter rainwater tanks at the school in May 2022. In addition, solar cells were installed on the roof to supply the pump and the waterflow system, which aqua pura had donated, with energy.
Fulbert, the project manager in the region, the villagers formed a water committee that helped install the water system and is now responsible for its maintenance. The committee also collects small fees that families pay for drinking water to cover later costs for repairs.
Ivory Coast, Kouamé Dankro village, Carrière region: third drinking water project
July 2018
Access to safe drinking water remains a major problem for the Ivorian people, especially in rural areas. According to the National Drinking Water Authority, in 2014 only 65% of the rural population had access to drinking water.
The villages of Blédou, Zougou and Kouamé Dankro each have a school house, each with a facility that cleans the water from a rainwater cistern to provide the children and teachers with good quality water.
In cooperation with aqua pura, Caboz Action was able to construct three cisterns for rainwater storage from 2015 to 2018, which are equipped with solar pumps, microfilters and UV lamps and store the drinking water for approx. 600 students and 18 teachers.

Ivory Coast, village Zougou Kouassiko: Clean drinking water for the school and the village
January 2017
West of the town of Soubré lies the village of Zougou Kouassiko, surrounded by cocoa plantations. The Ivory Coast currently produces almost two million tons of cocoa a year. The independent non-profit Caboz Action organizes social projects, educational projects or clean drinking water projects to improve farmers' living conditions.
Together with aqua pura, Caboz Action has realized a second project for the production of bacteriologically clean drinking water from rainwater for the schoolhouse and the village Zougou Kouassiko. 238 students attend the primary school of Zougou Kouassiko. They are almost exclusively children of cocoa farming families.
